Get Inspired!

Just as we watch for long-term trends that could adversely impact our employees and shareholders, we have studied the consequences of our continued assault on nature and have determined that unless we change, we may be responsible for catastrophic losses to ourselves and others.  Our concern for the environment is not a short-term attempt to improve our image, but a strategic change necessary to guide our corporation into and through the 21st century.

We look at every patient as a whole to ensure you get all the personalized attention you deserve. Please use our web site to help answer your questions and to learn more about your orthodontic treatment options.

We began the transition to eco-friendly practices three years ago, reducing our consumption of paper by 85 percent, electricity by about half and plastics by about 40 percent. Our immeasurable savings are the impact we have had on our patients, colleagues, family and friends.

Highlights of green practices at Hallman Orthodontics include:

  • Recycled and recyclable paper products (paper towels, facial tissue, bathroom tissue, etc).
  • 100% recycled printer paper.
  • Printer ink that does not necessitate cartridges (solid ink).
  • Giveaways that are useful and made from recycled content (pens from recycled paper, pencils from recycled denim, lanyards from recycled soda bottles, etc.).
  • “Green” cleaning materials, where possible.
  • Our practice offers an incentive to employees who choose public transportation over personal vehicles.
  • All computers and electronics are on “smart strips,” significantly reducing phantom use of electricity.
  • Most computers are turned off every evening except the servers.
  • All computer monitors are flat panel. Most of the computers are “all in one” (IMacs). They include the computer and monitor in one unit, therefore using considerably less energy. Additionally, they offer arsenic-free display glass, BFR-free, PVC-free, meet Energy Star 5 requirements and have been given an EPEAT gold rating.
  • A water filtration system installed through a separate tap in the kitchen. Glass pitchers are available for cooling in refrigerator and electric kettle is provided for heating. Water coolers and bottled water are not used in the office.
  • Panoramic windows in the office provide excellent light. There is no use of task lighting and overhead dental lights
  • All patients are asked if it is necessary to print receipts, appointment cards, etc. Nothing is printed automatically. Patients are encouraged to receive emailed copies of all correspondence.
  • Dishes, mugs and utensils are provided in the office for staff use in lieu of disposable materials.
  • Water conservation is practiced by the staff, reminders for the patients are posted by toothbrush sinks and a low -flow toilet is used.
