Just as we watch for long-term trends that could adversely impact our employees and shareholders, we have studied the consequences of our continued assault on nature and have determined that unless we change, we may be responsible for catastrophic losses to ourselves and others.  Our concern for the environment is not a short-term attempt to improve our image, but a strategic change necessary to guide our corporation into and through the 21st century.

Building Maintenance Systems, Inc.

Building Maintenance Systems, Inc., 51 Monroe Street, Suite 805, Rockville, MD 20850, 301-838-2225, specializes in permanent, long-term, and temporary maintenance and engineering staffing. Our company is committed to providing qualified and competent engineers to building owners and managers, who assist in maintaining the proper building coverage and staffing required to efficiently run facilities. Scheduled preventative maintenance on key mechanical and plumbing equipment has proven to reduce a building’s overall repair costs, as well as help reduce energy and utility costs. This translates into higher profit margins, satisfied tenants, better usage of environmental resources and a lower carbon footprint.

BMSI strives to advocate for environmental responsibility through the adoption of everyday methods, such as scheduling staff on reusable white boards, collecting data electronically, and educating our clients and staff on smart usage of resources at work and at home. At BMSI, we believe commitment to everyday practice and education can make a difference in the county and the rest of the world.

BMSI responsibly connects with how everyday work is done and the impact of that work on the environment. We provide and encourage environmental education to our staff through venues like the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED courses and Montgomery County Community College. We’ve put in place business practices that encourage reduction of our carbon footprint by including e-waste recycling, redundant purchasing, use of environmentally safe vendors, products and donation of equipment for reuse in the community. We strive to follow these policies in-house and encourage, when the chance arises, our business partners and clients to do so, as well.
